Academy Consultation

Dear Mosaic Federation Stakeholders,

Re: Proposed conversion of the Mosaic Federation to become an Academy and join the Illuminare Multi Academy Trust

We are writing to inform you about an exciting development for our school community. Mosaic Federation is proposing to join the Illuminare Multi Academy Trust.

The Illuminare Multi Academy Trust, is an education charity which currently consists of one school, Harton Academy. If approved, The Mosaic Federation will become a part of the Illuminare charity, operating as an independent entity with a strong link between the schools within the trust.

Benefits for the Mosaic Federation School in joining the Illuminare MAT

Hedworthfiled and Valley View School has already experienced numerous benefits through our Federation  and we believe that the shared ethos and values we have with Illuminare make this proposed transition a natural progression in our commitment to providing the very best for our children and young people.

As a charitable organisation, Illuminare has access to resources that as a local authority school we just cannot access, and many more doors will be opened by being part of Illuminare MAT. Although this proposal, if approved, will see us move away from being a LA maintained school, rest assured we will still have a very close relationship with South Tyneside Local Authority as our school will continue to be overseen by the LA from an overall standards and  SEND perspective.

You will be pleased to hear that we will continue to work closely with South Tyneside Local Authority.

At the heart of Illuminare  MAT is a dedication to every child. This reflects our own  vision for the success of all children. We have a  shared ethos of responsibility, respect, resilience, engagement  and aspiration, with a curriculum that supports challenge and development regardless of background. This shared vision has been a significant factor in the decision to choose the Illuminare trust as the trust we wish to join.

Importantly, Illuminare MAT will work to support schools to protect their identity but also to provide opportunities for collaboration and sharing of services, which provides the all-important economies of scale that we can’t access as stand-alone schools.

For example, working alongside our colleagues at Harton Academy will naturally, enable us to share expertise, skills, networks, CPD amongst many others, leading to evidence based and research driven best practice in both our schools. By joining Illuminare MAT, The Mosaic Federation will become part of a larger family, where resources and expertise are shared for the benefit of all stakeholders.

Consultation on the Academy Proposal

We value your input and invite you to share any questions or concerns you may have regarding this proposed transition to Academy status.

Attached to this communication is a presentation which may answer some of your questions and provide further information.

In addition, we will be holding two drop-in consultation sessions  with our stakeholders.

Session 1: Valley View Primary School 4.45 pm on 10th October 2024

Session 2: Hedworthfield Primary School 4.30pm on 17th October 2024.

Attached to this communication is a presentation which may answer some of your questions and provide further information.
