Our children have made a wonderful start to school life! They have been getting to know their new surroundings, exploring the indoor and outdoor spaces, making friends and having lots of fun along the way. Enjoy a glimpse of their first adventures in school.

Thrive 3

Thrive 3 have had a fantastic start to the year! It has been wonderful to see the children settling into their new routines, exploring their environment and building confidence as they get to know each other and their new surroundings.

One of our exciting new routines has been introducing a Daily Mile. We have gradually built this up together, starting at a pace that was comfortable for the children and working towards walking and jogging three laps around the field. The children have really enjoyed getting outside, being active and encouraging one another as they complete their laps. This has been a lovely opportunity to promote physical development, stamina and a positive attitude towards exercise.

We have also been enjoying making the most of our outdoor learning environment. The children have been exploring our brand-new mud kitchen, using their imagination to create recipes, potions and different mixtures. They have been developing their communication and language skills as they play together, sharing ideas, negotiating roles and using new vocabulary. We have also introduced a range of exciting new resources within our continuous provision, giving the children lots of opportunities to explore, investigate and learn through their own interests.

As the weeks have progressed, we have started to settle into a lovely and familiar routine. The children are becoming increasingly confident with the structure of our day and are beginning to understand what to expect with lots of learning opportunities, Attention Autism and beginning learning lots of key Mathematical language. We have also started our weekly phonics sounds, introducing new sounds in a fun and engaging way through songs, games and practical activities. It has been fantastic to see the children joining in, listening carefully and beginning to recognise and practise the sounds we have introduced.

We are incredibly proud of how well the children have settled in and look forward to seeing their confidence, independence and curiosity continue to grow throughout the year. There are lots more exciting learning opportunities and adventures ahead for Thrive

 

 

Thrive 4

Last week was another wonderful week of learning in THRIVE 4 with our topic All About Me.  The children have loved exploring their feelings and looking at their reflection in the mirror.  We have practised our snipping skills with “hair”.  We have also explored different shapes and made our own people.  But of course that isn’t all: we have constructed our own fabulous designs in the water and sand area.

We are learning  new skills and achieving amazing things each and everyday!
